CAST IRON MANUFACTURERS
When searching for vintage cast iron the most commonly sought after manufacturers are Griswold, Wagner, and Lodge. Historically, many other companies made cast iron cookware as well as a host of current manufacturers. The simplest way to identify a piece of cookware is to look at the bottom or back of a pan and see if there is a logo or markings present. There are many pans out there that have no markings what-so-ever, but most of them can still be identified by other features such as their handle shapes. There are websites and books available to help you learn about them.
